Procharter, a global aviation and logistics solutions provider, has successfully coordinated a specialist Antonov AN-124 charter operation, transporting three ISO containers of mission-critical aerospace cargo from Auckland, New Zealand.

The movement formed part of a wider frontier services operation supporting an international aerospace supply chain and demonstrated Procharter’s capability in delivering complex, time-critical heavy-lift air charter solutions across continents.

The AN-124 is purpose-built for heavy and oversized freight, offering a payload capability of up to 120 tons, and the flexibility to transport freight that cannot be accommodated on conventional freighter aircraft.

The operation involved transporting one 40-foot ISO container and two 20-foot ISO containers from New Zealand to the United States as part of a critical aerospace supply chain. The intercontinental movement required meticulous planning, secure handling, and continuous coordination across multiple operational stakeholders. Consideration was given to temperature management, vibration mitigation, and the transport of regulated dangerous goods, including lithium batteries and non-flammable gas, ensuring the cargo remained protected throughout the journey.

Procharter’s role encompassed aircraft sourcing, charter operational planning, mobilizing two of the company’s experienced Dangerous Goods and operational management team, schedule management, route support, and liaison and detailed co-ordination with all stakeholders, airport authorities and handling agents to ensure operational excellence was achieved.

“This operation demonstrates exactly where Procharter adds value: complex airlift, specialist cargo, demanding timelines, and the need for absolute operational confidence,” said Ryan Duffy, Director of Special Projects at Procharter.

“Transporting sensitive aerospace equipment across the Pacific required far more than simply securing an aircraft. Every stage demanded detailed planning, careful environmental consideration, dangerous goods expertise, and close coordination between all stakeholders to ensure the cargo arrived safely and on schedule.”
